Postpartum Doula: The benefits of having a postpartum doula can be, but are not limited to:

As your postpartum doula, I will:
assist you and your family in the ways you need, nurturing you so you can nurture your baby.
offer nonjudgemental, informative and emotional support.
spend time with your baby so you can take showers, naps, read, relax...whatever you need!
offer pet and sibling care, grocery shopping, food prep, cooking, dishes, laundry and other light help around your home or small errands to make sure you get the rest and nutrition you need and deserve.

There are some significant benefits to having a doula, such as less stress surrounding your pregnancy, birth and postpartum experiences, decreasing the need for induction, pain medication and cesareans, reducing the length of labor, and a more positive birth experience overall. As your birth doula, I offer:
One free, 60 minute consult at your favorite coffee or tea shop.
Two prenatal meetings with both partners at 33 weeks and 37 weeks (I can meet you up to even a few days before your EDD if you're finding me later on in your prenatal journey!)
Follow up from each meeting with in-depth research
Consistent availability prior to the on-call period via email, text and calls
Being on call for three weeks before your EDD, and up to two weeks after it
Acute assistance via texts/phone calls/facetime throughout your early labor (or possibly joining you in your home)
Suggesting when to call the advice nurse when it seems that you have reached the active phase of your labor.
Joining you at home or in the hospital in active labor (and sometimes sooner)
Staying with you in the hospital for 1-2hrs after your baby arrives
One postpartum meeting to see how you and your family are doing, go over birth your story, offer resources, references, and newborn care assistance, plus unlimited postpartum assistance via phone and email.
I also offer:
Extra Prenatal Appointments: These are helpful when you want extra information or assistance to go over nutritional needs, help with meal prep and/or refining your grocery list, how to detox your home and body before and after your baby comes, as well as baby-registry consultation and preparing your home and space for baby's safety needs. (two hour appointments)
Breastfeeding Education: This is a personal, two hour extra prenatal appointment to go over all the ins and outs of breastfeeding to best set you up for success once your little one arrives.
Placenta Encapsulation: Benefits from consuming your placenta can be increased energy and milk production, assistance with hormone balancing, decreased possibility of baby blues and postpartum depression, combating fatigue (gives you an energy boost when you need it), lowered body heat, raised iron levels, help with involution (bringing the uterus back down to size), and minimized bleeding. Postpartum Doula Work: Assisting your family as a whole, as well as your home, with newborn care, baby carrying/wrapping, breastfeeding, groceries, food prep, cooking, light cleaning, tidying, small errands, and holding/wearing baby while you sleep/shower/relax/etc. (4hr shifts up to twice a week)
